The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Gloucester, with shops and bars nearby, just a short walk from the Cathedral and the Docks. The rooms are very basic and dated, with some disappointment in their condition. The service provided by the staff was polite and professional, dealing with complaints well. The dining experience left much to be desired, as guests struggled to find breakfast options, leading to noise disturbances and lack of sleep. The facilities were satisfactory, with a multi-storey car park close by.
The hotel's location is superb, very central, and close to key spots. The rooms were comfortable, but not as advertised, lacking some amenities. The service was friendly, yet there seemed to be lapses in communication. The dining experience was subpar with noisy surroundings. The value for money needs improvement.
The hotel is like an apartment overlooking Southgate Street. The rooms smelled bad when we went in but came equipped with a fridge, microwave, cutlery, and plates. The service was a mix of welcoming and unwelcoming attitudes, with quick provision of fresh bed linen and great care for Noeline by a kind lady. The location is excellent in the city center, close to rail/coach station, docks & canals, and cathedral, although the car parking is pricey and not secure. Breakfast is available for an extra £5, which is good considering the reasonable room rate.

The hotel had a noisy front, and the atmosphere felt more like a hostel with stag dos and people smoking cannabis in their rooms. The room condition was a disgrace with falling ceilings, filthy carpets, and rotten wood panels in the bathroom.
The hotel was more like the standards we had seen in our friend's room. The room was tiny and clearly laid out as a single room, and the mattress was uncomfortable. The location was pretty good, conveniently within walking distance of various attractions, but lack of parking was a drawback.
